General Questions

  • At Dharma Massage & Bodywork, we aren’t just offering a traditional massage therapy session. Every session is completely customized to your body’s needs in that moment. We blend a variety of modalities – craniosacral therapy, neuromuscular massage, hot stones, cupping, aromatherapy, and more – at no extra charge, allowing for a truly intuitive, holistic experience. Our approach is both therapeutic and deeply nurturing, focusing not just on physical relief but also on emotional and energetic healing.

  • Not at all! In fact, one of the things that makes our sessions unique is that you don’t have to decide – we listen to your body and provide what it’s asking for. Whether it’s craniosacral therapy for nervous system balance, deep tissue work for tension relief, or a combination of multiple techniques, we intuitively blend the therapies that will serve you best.

  • Absolutely. Your body holds onto so much more than just physical tension – it stores stress, memories, and emotions. Sometimes, as tension is released, emotions come to the surface. This is completely natural and welcomed in our space. Whether you feel a deep sense of calm, a wave of emotion, or even the urge to cry or laugh, know that it is all part of the healing process. You are in a safe, judgment-free space, and we honor whatever comes up for you.

  • Yes! Many of our clients are looking for a deeper transformation beyond just one session, so we packages designed to support you longer-term. These packages combine massage therapy and craniosacral therapy to create lasting shifts in the body and nervous system.

  • My practice is dedicated to supporting women and children. I also work with boys up to the age of 18. I do not see adult men for bodywork,.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) Questions

  • Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that helps release tension in the nervous system, improving the flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spine. It’s deeply restorative, balancing, and extremely relaxing, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

  • No, CST is very different from traditional massage. It involves a light, intuitive touch on the head, spine, and sacrum (the base of the spine) to encourage deep nervous system regulation. Many clients describe CST as feeling meditative, deeply calming, and almost weightless as if layers of tension are being released without force.

  • CST is beneficial for a variety of conditions, including:

    • Chronic pain & headaches

    • Anxiety, stress, & nervous system overload

    • Hormonal & energetic imbalances

    • Postpartum recovery

    • Unexplained tension or discomfort in the body

  • Despite the name, Craniosacral Therapy isn’t just for the head. The “cranio” refers to the skull, and the “sacral” refers to the sacrum—located at the base of the spine. CST is a gentle, full-body approach that can be applied anywhere. I’m trained to assess the body’s subtle rhythms, sometimes even starting at the feet to track stored energy cysts—areas that may hold unresolved emotion, trauma, or memory. And yes, the intraoral (mouth) work is often a powerful part of the process!

Massage Therapy Questions

  • Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a therapeutic form of massage that combines Swedish massage, Myofascial Release (MFR), and Trigger Point Therapy to provide deep, lasting relief from chronic pain and muscular tension. Unlike a general relaxation massage, NMT is more focused and intentional, working with the nervous system and deep layers of tissue to create real, lasting changes in the body.

  • Every session is customized based on your body’s needs. We may combine deep tissue work with gentle craniosacral techniques, hot stones, or cupping to encourage your body to unwind at its own pace. Unlike spa massages, this isn’t just about relaxation – it’s about creating relief, restoring balance, and supporting your whole-body healing.

Pre & Postnatal Massage Questions

  • Yes! Our prenatal massages are specially designed for all stages of pregnancy, from the first trimester to postpartum recovery. We use gentle, nurturing techniques that support both your changing body and your baby’s well-being.

  • CST is a beautiful complement to prenatal massage, as it supports the nervous system, balances hormones, and relieves stress safely and gently. Many mothers find that CST helps them feel more connected to their bodies and their babies, while also alleviating common pregnancy discomforts like back pain, hip tension, and insomnia.

  • Postpartum massage can begin as soon as you feel ready. Many new mothers come in within the first few weeks to support recovery, hormone balance, and emotional well-being. We also offer Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy for infants, which can help with colic, sleep issues, and overall nervous system regulation.

Before Your Appointment

  • You’ll remain fully clothed during CST, so we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows for relaxation.

  • For Neuromuscular Therapy, you are welcome to undress to your comfort level. Many clients choose to undress to their underwear, or nothing, just like a traditional massage, while others prefer to wear light, loose-fitting clothing. You will always be properly draped with a sheet or blanket, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

  • Please know that this is a completely judgment-free space. Your body tells a story, and we are here to support and care for you, exactly as you are. Every shape, size, and stage of life is welcome on the table.

  • Not at all! Just come as you are. If you’d like, take a few moments beforehand to breathe and set an intention for your session. We’ll take care of the rest.

  • That’s completely okay! We offer a FREE 30-minute phone or Zoom consultation for new clients to discuss your needs and help you decide which service is best for you.
